About Said Hamideh

Said Hamideh is a Mass Communication graduate student with professional experience as an educational technology consultant and facilitator coach for the NYC-based conflict resolution non-profits, Children of Abraham and Soliya.

In 2009 Said is currently engrossed in one question of interest to academic institutions: what kind of role should emergent internet technologies play in a student’s college career? For every educational technologist that warms up to  collaborative and social networking platforms like twitter and facebook, there is a new feature or web application that threatens to outmode educators’ perceptions of what they think students are currently experiencing in their cognitive and scholastic lives. The larger this gap in perception, the more likely it is that course syllabi will fail to account for tools that render its cognitive exercises obsolete.
